Swift Microwave Therapy For Warts

Painful plantar warts? At Jupiter Gardens Podiatry we are very excited to announce that we have a state of the art effective treatment for warts.

Plantar warts are common and are caused by a virus

Plantar warts tend to be painful because of the constant pressure to the bottom of our feet. Like all warts, Plantar warts are caused by the human papillomavirus (HPV) virus, specifically types 1, 2, 4, 60, and 63. Warts form roots that reach down and grow, making them hard to treat with topical treatments.

At Jupiter Gardens Podiatry we offer a range of treatment options based on your goals and pain tolerance. Dr. Blanchet may choose to treat your warts quickly and aggressively or we may choose the slow and steady route. We are also happy to offer Swift Microwave Therapy for our patients.

What is Swift?

Swift is a cutting edge, FDA Cleared technology that we use to treat warts. It delivers low dose microwave energy through a specialized hand piece that targets and treats the underlying HPV virus by stimulating a natural immune response in the body. This helps clear the virus from your body, rather than just treating the lesion.

What to Expect

Swift treatment typically involves between 3 and 4 treatments, spaced 1 month apart; Each treatment only takes a few minutes. Afterwards, there is no limitation in activity and now blisters or wounds.  No home treatment is required between treatments. There is no downtime with this option.

How effective is Swift?

At Jupiter Gardens Podiatry we have found great success using Swift to treat stubborn warts. It is particularly effective in kids, teens, and young adults.

Does it hurt?

Patients feel about 0.5 seconds of pain as the energy is delivered. The pain ceases as soon as the treatment is done. Each wart is treated about 5 times per treatment session. There is no pain afterwards.

How to know if you have a wart:

  • You feel like you are walking on a small stone

  • Pain when you press the sides

  • Yellow areas with small black dots

  • Pain or bleeding

  • Spreading
